LetsEnhance Review: AI Image Upscaling & Restoration Tested (2026)

Our take

LetsEnhance is the strongest all-round editorial upscaling tool tested. Its Old photo model is the only purpose-built archival restoration option across all tools tested — a genuine differentiator for editors working with degraded historical content. Portrait output at 4x is natural and artifact-free. The main limitations are the absence of confirmed TIFF support and no DPI display in the interface.

Frequently Asked Questions

Based on our testing, the upload interface lists JPG, PNG, and WebP up to 50MB. TIFF was not listed as a supported input format — editors working with TIFF source files will need to convert before uploading.
DPI tagging was not explicitly confirmed in the interface during testing. After download, we recommend verifying DPI after importing into InDesign or Photoshop before sending to print.
The Old photo model is purpose-built for degraded archival inputs. It manages grain without amplification and recovers edge detail without hallucinating content — the best result for historical photograph restoration in our testing.
For a 300 DPI print target, 4x is the recommended scale factor for most editorial inputs. 2x is sufficient for web use but may be marginal for half-page print layouts at 300 DPI.
Light AI controls how aggressively the model applies enhancement. In our testing, 30% was the optimal setting for clean portrait inputs. Higher settings introduced over-sharpening on skin. Lower settings gave minimal enhancement on already clean images.
