Intent understanding

Works out what the customer actually wants before answering or acting

What this capability means

Intent understanding is the ability to work out what the user actually wants from their message and context, so the system can choose the right source, the right action, or ask for clarification before it responds.

Boundary: It does not judge whether the final answer is factually correct or whether a downstream action succeeds; it judges whether the system recognised the intent well enough to route the response correctly.
